3 Asynchronous Transfer Mode
= ATMасинхронный режим передачи [данных], протокол ATMтехнология высокоскоростной одновременной передачи трафика всех видов (данные, голос и видео) в сетях с коммутируемыми каналами; стандарт на коммутируемые сети, утвержденный МККТТ в 1985 г. Протокол ориентирован на соединения: любой передаче данных предшествует организация виртуального соединения (коммутируемого или постоянного) между отправителем и получателем данных, что упрощает процедуры маршрутизации. Имеются средства для гарантированной скорости обмена фиксированными 53-байтовыми ячейками (см. cell), содержащими данные и заголовок, в сетях с разной пропускной способностью (от 2 до 620 Мбит/с). Термин "асинхронный" в названии протокола означает, что ячейки, принадлежащие одному соединению, могут поступать в канал связи в непредсказуемые моменты времени (т. е. нерегулярно). Существует несколько протоколов верхнего уровня, обеспечивающих передачу поверх АТМ трафиков других типов (см. - Asynchronous Transfer Mode (асинхронный режим передачи) Стандартизованная ITU технология коммутации пакетов фиксированной длины - ячеек (cell). Режим ATM является асинхронным в том смысле, что ячейки от отдельных пользователей передаются апериодически. Эта технология предназначена для передачи данных со скоростью от 1.5 Мбит/сек до 2 Гбит/сек и обеспечивает эффективную передачу различных типов данных (голос, видео, multimedia, трафик ЛВС) на значительные расстояния. Спецификации ATM разрабатываются Форумом ATM (ATM Forum) независимой ассоциацией производителей и пользователей. -
